Good morning, good afternoon and good evening. Welcome to the site to track the Rooney history. I have created this site in order to develop a better and deeper understanding of where our family is from, when did it start and who was involved. We have 100's of dead and alive relatives: uncles, aunts or ants, cousins, nephews, nieces, sons, daughters, grandmas and omas, and grandpas and opas, greats-, -inlaws, beer drinkin Germans, beer drinkin Irish, and I've heard there is some Chinese somewhere along the way. I bet there's gotta be more countries involved.
Who knows?
Either way, we have a big family and I have decided to find out who is at the top of the tree by creating an open forum for the Rooney family, to contribute their thoughts, predictions, opinions, facts, assumptions and feeling on who came first....who, what, where, when, why and how???
Did we come through Ellis Island? I don't know, but i think someone in the Rooney family does. Did my grandpa Jamie meet the grandma I never meet, in Germany. Was there beer involved? Was Opa and Oma born and raised in Germany? I don't know, but i think someone does.
I have lots of questions and lots of research to do in order to figure out where the 12 brothers and sisters came from, where they are now, where their kids are, what they're doing, where your parents are from; great grandparents, great-great grandparents, great-great-great grandparents, uncles, aunts, 2nd uncles/aunts, cousins, 2nd cousins; you get the point; why they came here(US), how they came here, when they came here, where did they first go, where did they end up, and again where are they now either alive are buried peacefully across this world.
I hope this does not bother anyone nor create any confrontation in any way, but instead bring us closer to understanding where this large family comes from.
Wouldn't it be cool to find out that we own land somewhere in Germany or Ireland that has a huge castle on it? How bout being related to some royalty or someone famous from back in the day? How bout a whole family that exists somewhere in our bloodline and somewhere living today. Most likely not, but what the hell.
I'm a designer and would like to create a visual history of our family. Bring it on!
